About

A territorial medium, a memory, an observatory

Kerkenniens does not return to reproduce the old site. The new version preserves its editorial heritage and organises it to understand Kerkennah over time: what was told, what needs rechecking and what is changing today.

01

A memory that remains dated

The 468 historical articles and 18 essential dossiers retain their date and archive status. They are documentary sources, not automatic proof of a current situation.

02

An observatory that does not fill gaps with fiction

When data is missing, Kerkenniens prefers to say so rather than invent an indicator. Contemporary dossiers should connect to a source, a date and a method.

03

A territory at several scales

Main islands, villages, islets, coastline, practices and heritage are connected. Explore navigates the territory; Understand connects themes; Memory retrieves traces.

04

Controlled contributions

Testimonies, corrections, documents and photographs can be submitted. Nothing is published automatically: provenance, context and rights must be reviewable.

05

A deliberately light site

Native PHP, Markdown, local assets, no public CMS and no heavy front-end dependency. This simplicity supports portability, maintenance and auditability.

06

A reconstructed story

V5 now connects 2009 conception, 2011 launch, V1 to V4 generations, the 2019 announced pause, the visible 2023 return and the 2026 technical renewal. Historical captures and articles are documentary evidence, not nostalgic decoration.
